RIP Molly

Photobucket

After a very long and hard decision we decided to end Mollys battle with cancer. Molly had a tumor that coverd 80-90% off her bladder, as well as a growth on her urethra. She was loosing bladder control, had diffuculty and possible pain during urination.

Molly was the sweetest dog. She absolutely loved attention and would greet everyone at the door with her tail wagging. She would howl to show excitement of our return whether it be a whole day or just a quick trip to the store.

Molly loved to eat!! She would counter surf and table surfe sniffing out food. She figured out how to work the baby proofing that locked up the trash. One of her most favorite foods of all times was Frosty Paws, an ice cream made specifically for dogs.

Molly's biggest fan was Emma. Emma absolutely adored Molly and would ask "Where Mowwy go?" anytime she left the room.
Here she is giving Molly a "bath:

Grandpa George was an amazing Grandpa. Like my mom said, he served in the CCC’s and in WWII and he was proud to be an American.

He would spoil us rotten with gifts and handmade items. My brother and I each still have the wooden toy boxes he built us.

One of our fondest memories of grandma and grandpa growing up was camping. Every summer they would take us each out in their motor home for a week or so. We got stuffed with grandmas great cooking, and grandpa would always sneak us off to get ice cream cones! We would go swimming, hiking and sit around the campfire. Then there were the inevitable games of Push. We must have played hundreds of games of push. Grandpa would make up his own names for the cards “Wayno Kinkula, Pistol Packin Mama, Railroad Tracks, Eighter fro m Decatur” and then he would have his own sayings during the game. He would have to “cogitate” before every move. Then he would either put us on, or take us off of his Christmas list, depending on if he was winning or losing.

Grandpa also had lots of his own sayings, during cards if he was delt a foul hand he would say “an honest law abiding citizen cant get nothin’!” or

When we went swimming he would tell us “don’t get wet!”

Grandpa was always cheerful He loved music, and loved to sing. My brother and I can remember countless crazy/nonsensical songs that he would sing to us which talked about things like sleeping with your feet out the window, and monkeys climbing elephant trunks. His great-granddaughter Emma was lucky enough to hear some of those.

Grandpa loved instrumental music, and was a great violinist. He was one of the inspirations for me choosing to play the violin. When I was in high school I was given his violin to play and was very proud to use it.

One thing that we remember is how they would always come to our events, plays, skits, concerts and sports events. And they would always take us out for ice cream afterwards. Grandpa would always get vanilla, he would never get anything else. One time when Jeremiah took him to Cold Stone soon after it opened, Grandpa insisted on getting vanilla!! He was the same way with his burgers. Just meat and a bun, no cheese or ketchup or mustard, just a plain old burger. Except at Gordy’s he did like fried onions on them.

He loved sports, especially Twins baseball. Jeremiah and him would sit together and watch the games on tv, and talk Twins for hours!

I could go on and on, but we just want to say “We love you Grandpa, and we’ll miss you!”

And as Grandpa would say "Thats all she writ!"
